Following a year of outstanding growth for the opportunity, the Evan Erickson Music “2023 Call for Scores” initiative is going on a small tour to highlight the importance of performing music by under-resourced composers.

With an extended lecture-recital format at the North American Saxophone Alliance 2024 Conference, all three commissioned pieces from the EEM “2023 Call for Scores” will be premiered live to offer exposure to these composers names and build credibility for the non-profit opportunity.

Composed for UofMemphis Saxophonist Becca Tank, “What Do I Do?” is the bridge between Evan’s past groovy, Americana self, and his newer push into contemporary styles.

As an accepted composer for the 2023 Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, Evan was commissioned to write a new sax quartet to be premiered by student fellows of the festival on August 3rd at 7:00PM EST in the Paul Recital Hall at the Juilliard School.

The piece is boundary pushing for Evan’s style and marks a complete shift in his type of writing.
